Have you ever seen a sugar plum? They’re itty-bitty, ultra-purple pods covered in granulated sugar. They’re pretty, for sure. But, despite having seen the vintage holiday treat, we’re not sure what Clement Clarke Moore was thinking when he wrote the children were nestled all snug in their beds; while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads. Who dreams of candied fruit? Surely not children today. Goodness, when you hear that line, what do you imagine? Now, what do you suppose your kiddo pictured when she was cast as a sugar plum in the school’s holiday pageant? We’d be surprised if the vintage holiday treat entered her mind and became costume inspiration. She probably thought of any other variety of holiday candy skipping the stage. And so did our talented team of in-house designers.
Design and Details
In place of prancing plums, fill your child’s dreams with visions of this Pink Candy Cane Dress Costume—because who really pictures plums at Christmas time? This exclusive Made By Us look starts with a knee-length hourglass dress with long sleeves. A pastel pink and white stripe pattern twists its way up from the skirt to the collar, giving the jersey garment the look of a candy cane. Pink feather trim adds interest to the hemline, neckline, & sleeve cuffs, while an attached belt with a faux leather "buckle" defines the bodice from the skirt. A soft-sculpted hood with the same pink and white print secures under the chin with hook and loop fastener strips and ensures your child has the hook-shaped head of a candy cane. Last but not least, a pair of pink boot covers gives your child the option of wearing her favorite shoes without detracting from the sweet look of the entire ensemble.
